The side earned its second win of the year against the defending champions Macquarie last Saturday and they are looking to back up that effort with a victory against the Pirates, who currently sit in second position on the ladder.
Rovers bowler Matt Scott is hopeful the side will build on their win from last week.
“We want to go out and beat the Pirates this weekend,” Scott said.
“They are coming off a loss, so hopefully they will be low on confidence and we can capitalise on that. But we know they are a very talented young team with a lot to prove so we will not be taking them lightly.”
The round 10 match with the Pirates will be the last before the competition goes on break for six weeks, returning on February 2 for round 11.
Scott admits it’s important to “get a win before the break to continue to build on confidence going into the back end of the season”.
