Rovers dismissed the Pirates, who have won five of their seven matches, for 154 before they were able to surpass the total in the 31st over for the loss of only three wickets.
Lachlan Dowling played a massive role in the victory, as he picked up four wickets and recorded an unbeaten 53 with the bat.
The win lifts Rovers into sixth position on the ladder and seven points adrift of the fourth placed United.
It marks Rovers’ second win in a row and bowler Matt Scott claims the confidence is building within the side.
“You can really see the young fellas in the team growing in confidence each week,” Scott said.
Scott believes Rovers produced an important all-round performance.
“We are really pleased with the whole team performance on the weekend,” Scott said.
“I feel that we had a good mix of young and experienced players in the side.
“Our bowling performance was outstanding. It really gave us a lot of confidence going into the run chase.”
Josh Brenton picked up figures of (2/16) in his debut Premier League match while Lachie Dowling (4/40) played a crucial role in the victory.
The run chase didn’t start according to plan but for the majority of the time Rovers’ batsmen were comfortable at the crease.
“We lost an early wicket in our run chase as Callan McKiernan fell cheaply but Jack Bennett and Tim Smith combined to steady the ship.
“Tim thrived opening the batting, scoring a handy 28.”
Mitch Korn’s development as a wicketkeeper continued, while he also picked up important runs with the bat.
“Mitch had another good day with the gloves,” Scott said.
“He and Lachie batted patiently but then really put the foot down after the drinks break and they scored the 90 runs to get us the impressive win.”
The victory is made more impressive as Rovers were without two strike weapons in Jye Woodger and Harry Nemme.
The Premier League competition will go on break and return on February 2, but Rovers have a bye.
