The event was originally planned to be held on Saturday night but strong winds forced organisers to postpone the event.
Leonie Capararo from the Kempsey District Silver Band said although numbers were down from last year, the event was still a big success.
“The feedback we have received from people who attended last night has been really positive and they have said they really enjoyed the night,” she said.
“The band played really well and we had some wonderful guest singers throughout the evening.”
There was also plenty of food and drinks available, the Kempsey Scouts supplied a range of different kinds of food, with Fredo Pies and the Lolly Lady selling yummy treats to locals as well.
Santa also made a special appearance and handed out lollies to the children before trying his hand at conducting the band.
There was loads of entertainment for the kids with $10 ride passes and face painting.
“We’ve had some feedback that our sound and lighting was better this year, thanks to Terry Keane for stepping in and helping us.”
The Kempsey District Silver Band would like to thank Colleen Harridine, Jerry Van Der Veer, the guest singers, and everyone who helped make the event possible.
“It was a huge effort from everyone involved and I’d just like to thank everyone,” Ms Capararo said.
“Overall it wasn’t as big as last year but it was a really lovely night for the community.”
