A crowd was out yesterday to celebrate the last day of the year while hundreds have again headed out onto the sand today despite the clouds to start their year the right way, at the beach.
Families have enjoyed picnics and barbecues, beach goers soaked up the sun and keen surfers took to the waves, all taking a relaxed approach to the start of 2019.
