Michael Daley stopped in at Kempsey on his way up the coast yesterday afternoon to visit Country Labor campaigner for the seat of Oxley Susan Jenvey.

“This is a big deal for our area, this is the first time since Neville Wran that a NSW Labor Leader has visited Kempsey,” Ms Jenvey said.
“This visit was for a catch up and a walk by, letting the community know he’s here.”
Mr Daley has a strong connection with Kempsey, his grandfather owned a dairy farm in the area and he used to holiday here with his family when he was younger.
“I have a connection with regional areas, and here especially, my family used to holiday here when I was a child all the time.”
Mr Daley said his biggest commitment is to people living in regional areas.
“When I was elected as Leader in November last year, the first thing I wanted to do was get out to regional areas and talk with the people. I want there to be a partnership between cities and the country.”
“And travelling up the coast today, these are the people and the stories I am passionate about.”
Mr Daley is also currently a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly representing Maroubra for the Australian Labor Party, a position he has held since 2005.
“My commitment to the regions across NSW is real, it’s what we need.”
Mr Daley will make a few more stops up the coast today before returning to Sydney. He said because of his family’s history with Kempsey, he feels at home here.
“Kempsey is the spiritual home of the Daley family,” he said.
