Sarah Fafie was cleaning the coffee machine before making her usual flat white when she noticed a bulge under the machine among the cords.
“I was just cleaning out the machine for the day, about to make my own morning coffee and I noticed something underneath and thought, ‘that doesn’t look like a pipe,” Ms Fafie said.
“I got my husband to come and have a look and Kim took the top off and pulled out a eight foot python.
“We don’t know how long it was in there before I found it.”
A video of the snake posted on The Bush Kitchen’s Facebook page has now been viewed more than 7000 times and has been shared more than 80 times.
Ms Fafie said her husband had some trouble trying to get the snake out of the cafe.
“It really didn’t want to leave, it kept trying to get back into the machine and when my husband was trying to get it out of the cafe, it wound itself around a chair.”
The snake was eventually removed from the cafe and slithered off into nearby bush land.
“We’ve had snakes in the cafe before but never in or around the machinery. Finding a python in the coffee machine was not what I was expecting at all,” Ms Fafie said.
