Diana Ryall AM will join Kempsey Shire mayor, Liz Campbell, in presenting the 2019 Australia Day Awards on January 25 from 5pm at the Slim Dusty Centre in South Kempsey.
The event will include a Welcome to Country, a Citizenship ceremony for 14 Macleay Valley residents and the announcement of the recipients of Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
Ms Ryall founded Xplore for Success, a consultancy specialising in supporting more than 16,000 professionals to date to achieve career and personal success.
From 2006 to 2009, Ms Ryall was vice-president of the Chief Executive Women’s Group – a member-based organisation representing Australia’s most senior women leaders from the corporate, public service, academic and not-for-profit sectors.
In January 2010, Ms Ryall became a Member of the Order of Australia, AM, for her significant contribution to the education community, her commitment to the advancement of women, and her ongoing and wide-reaching charitable work.
She is also an ambassador for Honour a Woman, Good Return and Dress for Success Sydney, and sits on the Industry Advisory Group for Victorian Police.
As a breast cancer survivor, Ms Ryall supports the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and is a key spokesperson for International Women’s Day and is committed to a number of charitable and philanthropic causes.
Australia Day events:
The Crescent Heads Lions Club will host its traditional barbecue breakfast for a gold coin donation at the Crescent Head rotunda from 7:30am on Saturday, 26 January. The recipients of the Lions Club’s Crescent Head Citizen of the Year, Young Achiever, and Sportsperson of the Year Awards will also be announced.
The South West Rocks Lions Club will host a free sausage sizzle from 7:30am to 10am at the Horseshoe Bay Shelter Shed, located at Horseshoe Bay Reserve, Livingstone Street. The event will include live music and the presentation of the Lions Club Citizen of the Year Award.
Mayor Liz Campbell encourages residents and visitors to the area to attend the Australia Day Eve awards ceremony and the community celebrations on Saturday, January 26.
