After arriving in Kempsey last week, Ms Ryall’s first event as Ambassador was the Australia Day Awards, held at the Slim Dusty Centre on Friday night.
Ms Ryall addressed the crowd and said she was honoured to be the Kempsey Australia Day Ambassador.
"I’m very proud to be the Ambassador for this area, everyone has been very welcoming,” she said.
“I’m delighted to be involved in an event outside of Sydney and to be involved in regional Australia again.”
Ms Ryall founded Xplore for Success, a consultancy specialising in supporting more than 16,000 professionals to date to achieve career and personal success.
From 2006 to 2009, Ms Ryall was vice-president of the Chief Executive Women’s Group – a member-based organisation representing Australia’s most senior women leaders from the corporate, public service, academic and not-for-profit sectors.
Australia Day coverage:
Of the 14 Macleay residents who became Australian Citizens during the ceremony, Ms Ryall welcomed them into the community.
“Our country needs to include every citizen and make sure they feel welcome in Australia,” she said.
“What an exciting day this is for our new citizens.”
Ms Ryall also accompanied mayor Liz Campbell to the Crescent Head Lions Club Australia day breakfast.
“I really want to thank the Lions Club for putting on this breakfast. This is what we’re all about, having a good time and saying thank you,” Ms Ryall said.
“Congratulations to community members who received awards, it’s great to recognise the fabulous people and how much they give back to the community.”
