Based on the Kurdish people’s struggle for self-determination and human rights in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, the book reflects the lives of thousands of Middle Eastern women.
The story follows Evin Feili as she flees to the Northern Iraqi camp of the Kurdish guerrilla fighters.
Alison is a high school teacher from Barraganyatti, near Stuarts Point, who pursued her dream of writing a novel when the last of her four children left home.
Her fascination with Kurdish history and culture has inspired two previous books on ancient Kurds and led her to write about Kurdish women guerrilla fighters in Rite of Honour.
Alison will be at Kempsey Library on Tuesday, February 12 2019 at 10:30am.
