We have fun, nurture friendships, play games and are entertained by interesting members from our community who volunteer to speak.
The most important function of VIEW Club is helping disadvantaged children, and we are very committed to raising funds to sponsor children as part of the Smith Family’s Learning for Life Programme.
Through this programme children in need are helped with school essentials such as uniforms, shoes, books and excursions. They receive guidance from Learning for Life Coordinators who work with the families to understand the specific needs of each child and they also receive access to out-of-school educational opportunities. They are given a chance at success that they would not have otherwise had.
The Ladies of South West Rocks Evening VIEW are very committed to raising funds for this wonderful cause by holding cake stalls and raffles and are very grateful for all the support given by the community.
As a result of our fundraising we are proud to be able to sponsor three children. Two in Primary and one in Secondary School.
As well as this, we contributed to a Christmas programme called “Joy Spreaders” where an additional hundred or so children were helped with books, toys, stationery, sporting equipment, mentoring, computer equipment and more.
Also, throughout the year we have been collecting school supplies and last week we were very pleased to be able to donate them all to Gladstone Primary School.
