Living in a regional town or village brings with it a relaxed lifestyle and a sense of belonging to a community. But to ensure the Macleay continues to grow, prosper and thrive in a constantly changing environment, we need to continuously look for ways to entice businesses and visitors to our area.

As part of this, council is currently undertaking workshops with a panel of experts to build a framework on how to best support economic development and jobs growth in the Macleay Valley.
The panel have teased out priority actions for our region which will now form a draft discussion paper for industry stakeholders to consider and provide feedback.
To help build a stronger economy and ensure this investment is successful, it is vital that we receive constructive input from those who work in the industries that make up our local economy, or those community and business networks that strive to promote commercial growth in our valley.
Along with targeted consultation sessions with key groups, we invite you to have your say via an online survey that will be available from Wednesday on Council’s interactive portal, Your Say Macleay: https://yoursay.macleay.nsw.gov.au/.
The information gathered will form the basis of a discussion paper for the next step. I look forward to providing further updates on the progress of the strategy in the coming months.
