The exhibition is non-competitive and open to all Mid North Coast women artists, in any medium including painting, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, wood work, metal work, photography, quilting or floral art.
This is an opportunity for women to exhibit their art work in a gallery, maybe for the first time. We like to provide an opportunity for women to meet other female artists and to discuss their experience, to get feedback from their peers and to encourage and promote art making by women.
The Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery is a community run gallery open to all artists to hire for exhibitions.
On the world front many women’s lives are very difficult. We instead celebrate the positives for International Women’s Day by holding an art exhibition highlighting how talented women are and encourage women to participate and follow their dreams.
The exhibition opening celebration takes place on Friday, March 8 from 6pm at the vibrant little gallery at MVCAG, 5 Kinchela Street in Gladstone.
All are welcome and entry to the gallery is free.
I love the buzz and energy of this night as women, friends and community members join to share each other’s artistic talents. The catering will be provided by the generosity of the Macleay Valley Business Women’s Network.
The exhibition runs from Thursday, March 7 to Sunday, March 17, 2019.
For the minimal cost of $10 you can enter two art pieces.
Entry fees will be donated to the Samaritans to aid in their support for women and children suffering domestic violence.
See www.mvcartgallery.org for exhibition entry forms and exhibition programs.
