SSAAKB committee member Wayne has been involved with the local club for more than a decade and believes there's plenty of positives to participating.
"It's great socially, it's a bit of a men's shed in a way," Wayne told the Argus.
"We are all here to do something we love but we also support each other. We are a family club and very inclusive.
"People come here and can talk things out with like-minded people."
The club is also encouraging juniors to join the club and Wayne said they will learn life skills.
"There's a lot of positives to juniors signing up," Wayne said.
"They gain a sense of responsibility, they realise it's a very serious thing to arm a gun and I think it helps them mature.
"There are also competitions once a month and it can help them if they want to join the cadets or the military."
The club welcomes people who are interested in trying shooting to attend the Kempsey Rifle Range on Thursday or Sunday from 9am to 2pm or if you're interested in more information then contact Wayne on 0402 669 827.
A person who wishes to try the sport doesn't need a gun license, they can simply attend the rifle range during the above times, sign a form and a committee member will take you through the process.
