Sangeet and Shivam are accompanied on Tabla by Massimo Bidin, originally from Italy and now living in Melbourne, an upcoming tabla player and world music percussionists in Australia. Last year he played in Kempsey with Shivam and Mico.
Sangeet means sound or music in Sanskrit and is also the name of Sangeet Mishra, master of the Sarangi, an ancient Indian Violin, who hails from eight generations of Sarangi players from Varanassi India. He previously performed in Kempsey with acclaimed Tibetan musician Tenzin Choegyal.
Shivam Rath blends a unique 22 string slide guitar/sitar gliding with a crystal ball. His fusion instrument symbolises a cross culture of harmony in sound and music. Only one year ago, Shivam and singer Mico Sundari enchanted the Kempsey audience with their beautiful combination of sounds.
