WITH all of the resilience you'd expect from a Rural Fire Service brigade captain, Arthur Bain - The Greens candidate for Oxley - remains upbeat on his prospects for bringing change.
Mr Bain, head of the Bellbrook brigade, signalled his intent to stand at next year's local government elections for Kempsey Shire Council after a number of takeaways from the State campaign.
"We had a very inexperienced campaign and things were made up as we went along but that was a good first crack," Mr Bain said.
With campaign material now in place, and some lessons learned, he said the team would be better equipped for its next tilt.
Mr Bain said Greens scrutineers had indicated that some of the preferences from party supporters had gone to The Nationals in Oxley, something he found "interesting".
He said he had and wanted to continue a strong relationship with both The Nationals Melinda Pavey and Country Labor's Susan Jenvey to drive "social justice initiatives in Kempsey".
