Despite his side suffering a large defeat at the hands of the Dicoese of Newcastle and Maitland, Kaine Parkinson still managed to prove his worth to selectors as he was chosen for the NSW Combined Catholic Northern Country Under-18s side.

The fullback had limited opportunities in the one-sided contest, but Parkinson shone in the Diocese of Lismore's only attacking raid in the second half.
Parkinson received the ball while sweeping in an attacking backline play and brilliantly engaged a defender before laying the ball off to his centre, who barged his way over to score.
Parkinson, who also represents the North Coast Bulldogs, was also strong as the last line of defence.
The St Paul's College student made three one-on-one tackles to prevent a try in the second half and also showed his coolness under pressure while cleaning up attacking kicks.
Parkinson was glad to earn selection into the northern country side.
"I just focus on playing hard and doing my job but it's always great to earn representative selection," Parkinson said.
The Smithtown Tigers junior will line up as fullback for the NSW Combined Catholic Northern Country side in Sydney in May.
