The community fun run sees hundreds of keen runners and walkers take to the beach at Crescent head for the 5km, 10km, 15km and 20km events.
Organiser of the Head to Head, Jo Watts, said although it's still a few months away, now is the time to start training.
"It's time to get started with your training, the mornings and evenings are just starting to cool down a bit but please remember to drink plenty of water," she said.
Each year the Crescent Head Lions Club supports a local charity and this year will be no different.
"This year the charity we're supporting is Macleay Valley Diabetes Group. It's so great to support the Macleay Valley the way they support the Crescent Head Lions Club," Ms Watts said.
"We already have secured some amazing sponsors so far. The Macleay Valley Costal Holiday Parks which will be their sixth year supporting the event, as well as The Macleay Argus and Carpet Court Kempsey. Without the sponsors we cannot have this event.
"The Head to Head is how the Crescent Head Lions Club raises funds to give back to the community."
Registrations for the fun run will open in June.
