The Kempsey Golf Club 2019 Pennants team is off to a fantastic start to the 2019 MNGDGA Pennants Open Division with a win in the first round of matches which was held at Kempsey last Sunday.

The defending champions took on the team from Macksville in round one and had a outstanding victory of 4.5 matches to 0.5 a match on the day out of the five matches held.
The victory sees the defending champions head into there next match this Sunday again at home against the team from Bowraville with the first match to tee off from 9.30am on the day. Good luck to the team and let's hope for another victory.
On Saturday last week the 2019 Coastline Credit Union 18 hole Single Stroke event was held with players playing for the Monthly Medals in each grade and in the field were visitors from SWR and Frederickton on the day.

Taking out the top grade for the Monthly medal was Brett Morrison with a net 70 after a three-way count back was needed to find the winner and the runner up which was T J Smith also with a net 70.
The unlucky player in third place was Robert Baker. New member to the club now James Benson claimed the gross event with a impressive round of 75, and with the 2019 Club Championship's coming up in May he will be one of the favourites for the title.
The 'B' grade winner of the medal was Peter Callaghan with a net 72 from Junior Carlin Dunbar-Rudd who recorded a net 73. The gross winner was Kristopher Heuston with his round of 88.
John Wright was the 'C' grade winner of the Monthly medal with his net score of 68 and also the gross winner with his round of 92. The runner up with a net 72 was Dempsey Donovan on the day.
The ball competition on the day saw players with a net 74 on a count back receive a ball and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Tomorrow at the club will see the Members and visitors take to the fairways for the staging of the 2019 Amcal Max 18 hole Single Stableford event and all intending players wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round.
The scoreboard roster for tomorrow will see the week two team of Chris Hudson and Robert Johnston on duty.
Don't forget with daylight saving now over that the last hit off time on Saturday is 12.30pm so please book in early for your game and please play without delay to allow all players to finish there rounds.
With Easter nearing the next weekend a reminder to all, players that there is golf over the Easter weekend and that you can book in now for your game on Saturday or Sunday of the weekend.
The nine hole Dash for Cash event which was held on Thursday afternoons during the daylight saving months will still be held every Thursday all day long just book in at the pro shop before hitting off.
