This year's theme for Youth Week is 'Coming together to Connect, Share, Speak Out, and Celebrate' and Chairperson of Booroongen Djugun Limited, Elizabeth Stirling, said this is the aim of Dash with a Splash.
"Coming together to connect, celebrate and speakout is what this event is all about," she said.
"It's amazing seeing everyone here together today."
For the first time, Booroongen Djugun was named as Platinum Sponsor for the event and they spiced it up this year by adding a twist. The twist being the introduction of four obstacles along the course.
Mayor Liz Campbell was at the event today and said seeing the community come together is amazing.
"We have a wonderful community here in Kempsey and days like this make us who we are," she said.
Hundreds of locals made their way along the two kilometre course while being doused in colourful airborne paint before the soap machine provided a tonne of bubbly fun.
Apart from the colour run, there were a number of local organisations with information stalls set up as well as activities throughout the day run by the Ambassador of the event Jack Wilson, also known as the 'Deadly Ninja'.
Kempsey Healing Events Committee would like to thank the following sponsors of the event:
- The Benevolent Society
- Mid North Coast Local Health District
- Community Housing Ltd
- Team Spirit
- HIPPY
