If you have exited the Macleay via the South Kempsey roundabout over the past two weeks, you may have noticed a teddy bear perched on top of the seven-metre tall sculpture.
The cuddly toy was first noticed on top of the sculpture on April 1 but the reason and the person behind the placement of the teddy bear remains a mystery.
Was it an April Fool's prank or was it a coincidence the teddy bear first appeared on the day loved by jokesters?
Regardless of the reason, it seems the teddy bear is here to stay, at least until somebody with a long ladder decides they want a new toy.
