In our second instalment, we introduce Karen Lambley from the Golden Oldies.

Name: Karen Lambley
Club: Golden Oldies
Team: Sapphires
Division: Seniors Division 2A
Position: Defender
Karen Lambley is also the Macleay Netball Associations President who does an amazing job.
Like many of these positions in sport, these are all volunteered positions which take up a lot of personal time which many people don't realise.
It also requires a lot of commitment and passion for the sport and its members.
Karen goes above and beyond in her role to ensure netball on the Macleay thrives each season.

Q: What made you choose to play Netball?
A: Friends of my parents got me interested in the sport, my first games of netball were played at Lakeside in the Newcastle area.
Q: What do you like about playing Netball?
A: Being a part of a team and the agility required to play the game.
Q: Best Achievement in this sport?
A: Representing my associations over the years (Macleay and Lakeside) in the NSW State and State Age Championships over the years.
Q: What is your favourite Position to play?
A: WD (wing defence).
Q: Which Suncorp Super netball team do you follow?
A: NSW Swifts.
