Like many beautiful beaches, the Grassy Head Beach foreshore is subject to impacts by large coastal storms and ocean wash.
This hasn't stopped the locals and devoted holidaymakers from enjoying this little gem and it was vital for Council to ensure access to the beach was safe.
Council and the Grassy Head community worked together to design a unique facade for the different beach access points.
I am pleased to announce that this project is now complete and the finished product blends in beautifully with its natural environment.
Thank you to everyone who was involved in this project - I'm sure it will be enjoyed by many over the school holiday period.
Anzac Day
This Thursday, 25 April marks Anzac Day throughout the country. It's such an important day here in the Macleay Valley as community members line the streets and gather at the various cenotaphs across the valley to pay tribute to our service veterans.
We come together in remembrance of those soldiers who served and lost their lives in Gallipoli and to honor the Australian heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in war. Show your support by attending one of the commemorative services in the region.
There will be some temporary road closures for the Anzac Day march so please drive carefully.
