Kempsey Show kicked off with a bang last night with the official opening ceremony at the Kempsey Showground.

Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey, mayor Liz Campbell and Lachy Townsend from Coastline Credit Union declared the 2019 show open.
"It's a privilege to be here and to open the show, everyone should be proud of what Kempsey can do as a community," Ms Pavey said.
Mayor Campbell said the effort that went into ensuring the 2019 show is a success is something to be proud of.
"We have a beautiful community who have come together, the show will do Kempsey proud," she said.
"It's great to see the tradition of the show continuing."

Lachy Townsend from Coastline Credit Union said supporting the Kempsey Show is important.
"Coastline Credit Union is proud to support the local Show Society and ensure it continues," he said.
"We're a local business and are here for the community and want to support the Kempsey Show Society."
Coastline Credit Union have recently signed a three year sponsor partnership with the Kempsey Show Society.
Hundreds of locals packed the showground last night and enjoyed the rides, games, entertainment and food stalls before the 2019 Kempsey Showgirls were announced.
President of the Kempsey Show Society, Donna Clarke, said there were an overwhelming number of entrants this year.
"There were a large group of Showgirls this year, which is really great to see young girls wanting to get involved in the show," she said.
Winners of the 2019 Kempsey Showgirls are:
- Senior Showgirl - Keely Lawrence
- Teen Showgirl - Tahlia Smith
- Junior Showgirl - Georgia Hazell
All of the action continues today at the showground with beef and goat judging, the Grand Parade, trotting, camp draft, Kym Hagon Horsemanship Show and the Ladies and Blokes smash up derby.
