"I found the link on Facebook, and the cancer council sent me a morning tea information package," she said.
"Local businesses have donated some great prizes for the raffles; there are hampers, vouchers, and a bake stall with sweets and treats.
"Like many families, mine has been affected by cancer, my uncle and my partners mum, so I wanted to help however I could."
Every year the Cancer Council holds a fundraising event to help raise funds to help cancer research, prevention, support programs, and information. They also encourage everyone to hold their own events, big or small, at work or home, every little bit helps.
"The actual morning tea isn't until the May 23, but there will be events like mine happening throughout May," Ms Thomson said.
Last year events all around Australia raised a massive $11.9 million, this year the goal is to hit at least $13 million. So this Sunday, May 5, head over to the Macksville Woolworths and support Bronwyn Thomson in her fundraising efforts.
"Everyone is welcome to come down, buy a raffle ticket, and enjoy some good food," Ms Thomson said.
