Teams all got back into the swing of things and enjoyed a fine but windy day of netball.
Player numbers have increased this year which is great and it's good to see the competitions thriving.
The Macleay Netball Association has some great up and coming juniors in their 10 to 15 years divisions as well as good numbers in their Set division with lots of little ones learning the basics of Netball.
Macleay Netball Association publicity officer Sonya Murphy said it's great to see them all running around having fun and learning the skills.
"The coaches are all doing a wonderful job teaching the kids each week and without them the development of our juniors would suffer," Murphy said.
"It's important we nurture the youngsters and make sure they enjoy playing sport in a safe and supportive environment and the coaches and clubs certainly do that well and the association thanks them very much."
The 12pm time slot saw a great match up in the 15 years division between the Crescent Head Clownfish and Natureland Lightning.
This game was a close one throughout its entirety with neither team backing down seeing many turnovers from both teams.
The shooting efforts by Clownfish players Elle Myler and Laura Buls at the start really kept their team in the fight making the Lightning defence of Eliza Carroll and Emily Steger work extra hard to get the turnovers.
Natureland stepped it up in the centre court with Ruby Hudson, Lily Carpenter and Paige Secomb all working hard to stop their oppositions flow and by getting the ball down to their shooters, Taylah Iverach, Bella Laws and Maddison Orriss to help them gain the upper hand.
Both teams are well drilled sides and really show great skills and strength when they play.
It was a very entertaining game between the two sides with Natureland coming out on top as winners 20 points to Crescent Heads 11.
It was a very close game at 3pm in the division 1 competition with two of the Natureland teams, Thunder and Storm going head to head in healthy club rival game.
The skill level in this game was outstanding as most of the top division 1 games are.
The game started off with the Thunder in the driver's seat getting off to a great starting leading by 6 at the quarter time break.
Storm wasn't finished yet though and clawed their way back to get within 1 of their opposition at the half and three quarter time intervals.
At the end of the day, Thunder finished off their goals well and were slightly better with their accuracy ahead of the Storm which helped them win the game 28 points to the Storms 27.
It's always great to see a close game in the top grade and the senior comp in general across the board this year is strong.
Makes for some top quality games of Netball for the season, which is exciting for the Association and the Macleay.
This Saturday brings up week six of competition for the juniors and seniors with more great games of netball on display on the Macleay from 10.30am.
