The red cattle dog was struck by a car and left with a nasty gash to her skull and a badly damaged eye. Some good Samaritans found the injured animal wandering on the road, they then took her to the Macleay Valley Vets for treatment and to scan for a microchip and find her owner.
Unfortunately, the young pup wasn't microchipped, and the Macleay Valley Vets could not undertake further treatment without authorisation from an owner, she was kept at the vets for assessment and pain relief.

Friends of Kempsey Pound Inc heard about Trinity's plight through Facebook and immediately went to work to have her injuries treated under duty of care. Macleay Valley Vets generously discounted the cost of her medical care, and many Kempsey residents donated to a go-fund-me page, Friends of Kempsey Pound and directly to the Macleay Valley Vets.
Trinity has now healed from her injuries, and been micro-chipped, vaccinated, and de-sexed, while she lost her eye, she is coping well. Before she was made available for adoption, there had been quite a few inquiries about Trinity, and luckily a family will now be taking her home.
