However, Mustangs coach Russell Lardner wants to see his side show the killer instinct when they collide with the struggling Taree City Bulls at Verge St Oval this Sunday.
The Bulls sit in second last position on the ladder and head into the contest on the back of two heavy defeats.
"We need to look at it the same we do with any other team," Lardner told the Argus.
"I know what can happen when you approach a game and you don't give it everything. We need to do the same as if we were going up against a top team, remain focused, do our job for the team and get the win."
Lardner wants to see his side continue to play at a high level.
"When you come up against a side that isn't doing too well, you can sometimes drop to their level," Lardner said.
"I don't want that to happen, we need to continue to play well so that when we do come up against a team near the top of the ladder we are ready."
The Mustangs have suffered one loss this season, against the Wingham Tigers earlier this month. However, they bounced back to secure their most impressive win by handing Wauchope a 20-19 defeat on their home soil.
First grade kicks off at 3pm.
