The event kicked off yesterday with keen surfers taking to the water to show off their skill. The competition continued today and will wrap up tomorrow.
This year there are 73 events and 270 competitors from around Australia and overseas, ensuring the Crescent Head Malibu Classic remains Australia's biggest amateur long boarding competition.
A ten point judging system is in play, with judge Daffy Chisholm looking for flow and control form the competitors.
"I'm looking for the control of motion and the flow from one transition to the next," he said.
"There's a lot of talent out there and I've seen some really smooth patterns so far."
Crescent Head Malibu Club President Roger 'Fergo' Ferguson said although the swell isn't ideal people are still having a blast.
"There's a lot of small waves out there but the vibe here is amazing. We have a great community here and there's no intergenerational rivalry, everyone's just having a good time," he said.
This year the club has introduced the over 75 section.
"We have two events in the over 75 section, it's really significant for the club to have introduced it this year. It's amazing that these guys get out there and show off their talent.
"Long boarding is all about style and finesse."
The last day of the competition will kick off at 6.50am tomorrow morning with the last event at 3pm and followed by the presentation at 4.30pm at the Crescent Head Country Club.
