Following the success of the Hey Hey Macleay! community events calendar, the free community directory will provide a one-stop platform for residents to find information about services available across the Macleay Valley.
Council's coordinator communications and community Maya Spannari said the directory will connect residents to the range of community services, events, programs and activities on offer.
"The new directory will bring community service and event information into a single, free to access space that is engaging and interactive for the community," she said. "We encourage all community services and non-profit based organisations to register for free, list their services and keep their information up to date on this easy-to-use site."
Key features are: a community directory listings function; a community events and activities function (incorporating the Hey Hey Macleay! platform); interagency and network calendar and services listings; a newswire for groups to share community-based information; a support desk; a mobile phone app for easy access to information; a search and download function for community members to access and share information.
An information session will be held on Tuesday, June 11, from 10am until noon, at Kempsey RFS centre, North Street, West Kempsey. The session will include an overview of the directory's functions and benefits, details on how to list a service, post an event and keep information up to date, and a demonstration of the newswire and dashboard functions.
