Last year's recipients achieved some amazing results with the funds. I took great pleasure in reading their wonderful stories about the positive difference the financial assistance has made to those deserving groups.
A handful of organisations are exempt from submitting an application, and these are for long-standing community events that Council has supported over many years. These include end-of-year scholastic achievement awards for local schools and TAFE, Country Education Foundation Australia and the Riverside Christmas community event.
For details, download the application form at: www.kempsey.nsw.gov.au/mcf or contact Customer Services on 6566 3200. Applications close at 4:30pm on Wednesday, July 24.
Changeover events
The Changeover events for the Macleay Valley's various service and sporting clubs have commenced. This is an opportune time to reflect on the past year and say thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and, in some instances, change hats in leadership.
My fellow Councillors and I appreciate attending these Changeover events and listening to the wonderful achievements and milestones each club has accomplished and what their plans for the future are.
The amazing work each of you do for the community with your kindness, commitment and fundraising is truly remarkable. Each club is wonderful in its own way, however, you all share the same dedication to enriching life in the Macleay Valley.
I appreciate that many of you give up many hours of your own time, work full-time and have families. On behalf of Council and the community, I extend a sincere thank you for all that you do.
