As a long-time follower of country rugby league, and the Mustangs in particular, it's been an amazing turnaround from a tumultous 2018 to be leading the Group 3 competition this year.
Led by non stop players like the outstanding Richie Roberts, Josef Barber and the enigmatic Russell Lardner, the Mustangs have a well-drilled look about them this season that should carry them all the way to the grand final.
And what a day that would be, to be part or a packed partisan crowd of supporters at the Verge Street ground.
Russell Lardner and his partner Tamara Howarth are also to be warmly congratulated on the great job they have done in bringing the team back to the top.
Now it's up to the local community and sponsors to get behind the Mustangs in every way possible.
Get down to the ground next time they play and you will enjoy an excellent standard of rugby league played in the true spirit of the game.

Star fullback Owen Blair never fails to excite with his blistering pace and evasive skills and Cecil Lardner gives one hundred per cent every time he pulls on a Mustangs jumper.
Young outside back Kaine Parkinson is one to watch as well.
In fact, every Mustang player has exceeded expectations in what has been a very special season thus far.
Let's hope there is a local hotel or club that can also support the Mustangs with their after game functions.
Winners are grinners, as they say, and there is so much community upside to be gained in backing the local team.
