All four players teed off on the third hole, and as is often the case with dew on the grass and early morning light, the balls were difficult to spot.
Three balls were found easily when Liz asked quietly if anyone had seen her ball.
The search for her ball began with the girls aware of the new three minute rule, and as a last resort, the hole was checked.
All were of course ecstatic for Liz and news of the hole-in-one soon echoed around the course.
Liz and Cassie went on to claim victory in the event, with Gail Cheers and Sharron McNamara as runner-ups.
Congratulations Liz.
Gail Cheers, a newcomer to the game, has been playing beautifully and claimed nearest the pin on the eighth hole.
The second round of the club championships will be played this week with players in all grades looking to play their best.
New and visiting players are always welcome despite the event title. Come out on a Wednesday and enjoy the fun.
