Primary school students from Gladstone, Rollands Plains, Green Hill, Willawarrin, Bellbrook and Kempsey South public schools were involved in a traditional Welcome ceremony before sharing in a number of activities organised by a mix of schools and partner organisations.
Assistant principal of Kempsey South Public School Sharyn Blackwell said having the schools join together to celebrate Naidoc Week allows the students to further their knowledge.
"We are starting to achieve our goals of speaking and learning about culture, this coincides with the theme of Naidoc Week this year of Voice, Treaty, Truth," she said.
"We want all of our schools to continue to highlight the importance of Naidoc Week and cultural learning."
There were a number of activities for students to get involved in today including Melville High School Clontarf Indigenous games, sports organised by Cricket NSW, NSW NRL and NSW AFL, PCYC boxfit, Aboriginal art, drum beat, Charles Sturt University future movers and Dhalayi Doctors healthy living.
"It's really great to have the small schools get together and access activities they might not get a chance to experience," Kempsey South Public School teacher and organiser Lea Hudson said.
"We do focus on cultural language activities at the school and to get all of the small schools involved as well is something we believe is beneficial to the students."
