The Marlins head into the final regular season game trailing the Laurieton Stingrays by one competition point and they will also require a Stingrays defeat at the hands of the Long Flat Dragons if they are to secure the top spot.
South West Rocks are guaranteed to finish in the top two spots as they lead the Kendall Blues, who are in third spot, by four competition points.
Either the Stingrays or the Marlins will have a week off for the first week of the finals series, depending on which team finishes in first place.
The Marlins are guaranteed to at least make the second week of the finals.
If the Marlins are forced to settle for second position, it's likely they will face off with the Blues in the major semi-final at Wauchope in a fortnights time.
The other potential opponent is the Dragons, who are currently in fourth position.
