Along with only a handful of other coaches, Tamblyn received an FFA C-License coaching scholarship from Northern NSW Football (NNSWF). Awarded to leading women throughout the football community, NNSWF hopes to encourage more women to get into leadership positions.
"It was a great honour to be chosen for the FFA C-License scholarship, there were only 12 offered, and I was lucky enough to be selected," Tamblyn said.
"I've done a little bit of coaching before I took over the Rangers team this year, and I've grown up playing football, so this was the next logical step."
When I applied for the scholarship, my main goal was to be a better coach, and inspire more girls to get involved in the sport.

Upon completion, Tamblyn will attain a C-License coaching accreditation which provides a greater understanding of the game, along with all the skills and tactics to teach players at higher grades, including premier league competitions.
"When I applied for the scholarship, my main goal was to be a better coach, and inspire more girls to get involved in the sport," she said.
"I want to bring the new skills I'm learning to the game and teach our players more effectively. "
Tamblyn now has just under a year to finish the course, and while she hasn't got any concrete plans to take her coaching any higher at this stage, she hasn't ruled it out entirely.
"The course has a one year time limit, and for nearly every weekend in November I'll be travelling to Newcastle," she said.
"I'd be happy to step up and take it to the next level if given a chance, but I think I need to learn more before I can take on a higher role."
Aside from coaching the regular season team, Emma Tamblyn teaches a Rangers Academy every Sunday afternoon for players to learn technical skills, starting at 2pm at the Rangers Field.
