With two regular season rounds remaining, the Rangers are undefeated and sit eight-points clear at the top of the table.
Rangers player-coach Emma Tamblyn believes her side earned the minor premiership on the back of hard work.
"We are pretty happy about locking up the minor premiership, especially with two rounds still to go," Tamblyn told the Argus.
"But now we are focused on the next goal and that's defending our crown and winning the major premiership."
Macleay Valley have been the clear benchmark of the competition as they are undefeated after 14 games and boast by-far the best attack (74 scored) and are equal first in goals conceded (10).
Tamblyn claims the structure of the side and dedication to stick to the gameplan has allowed the side to excel.
"When we started the season, the team agreed we wanted to focus on playing good football and having fun while doing it," Tamblyn said.
"And we have been able to do that. Everyone is enjoying themselves and we are playing great football.
"We are good at controlling possession. In attack, it's a team effort. Our backs push forward to create more opportunities and we transition from defence into attack well."
While the victory over the Saints resulted in an insurmountable lead at the top, the Rangers have also locked up a bye for the first round of the finals series.
The Rangers will advance directly to the major semi-final and are one win away from back-to-back grand final appearances.
It was a hard-fought victory for Macleay Valley on Saturday, as they broke the deadlock with a Tamblyn penalty goal in the first half.
"It's always a hard game against Saints because of the rivalry we have," Tamblyn said.
Saints, who are in fourth, are the only side to take points from Rangers this season, as they forced a 2-all draw in round five.
