Jann found her passion for wood firing close to four decades ago and regularly opens her workshop up to locals who want to learn more about the process of wood firing.
The event on August 17 and 18 is hosted by Australian Ceramics Association and shines a spotlight on the diverse practice of Australian artists working with clay.
"It will allow other potters like myself to inform the public about handmade objects and the process in which we do it," Jann said.
"It's the fifth year I've done this event with Australian Ceramics Association and the seventh year it's been running."
Locals will get the chance to get up close and personal with the wood fired kilns used to create one of a kind pieces and learn about the process.
"I use locally sourced wood for the kilns and make the glazes myself, so each product is a locally made and unique.
"I'll talk with locals about the process and will have a packed kiln that's ready to be fired that they can have a look at. We're also in the process of dismantling one of the kilns before it will be rebuilt so that will also be interesting for the public to see."
The open weekend will be held on August 17 and 18 between 10am and 4pm each day at 8 Lily Lane, South Kempsey. Contact Jann Kesby on 0417-678-589 for more information.
