The fire is likely to impact properties in less than an hour.
Residents on Loftus Rd and Richardsons Crossing are urged to shelter in place as the fire approaches as it is too late to leave.
The fire is burning in a south easterly direction under strong winds at Verges Creek. It has moved across Belmore River.
Aircraft are assisting RFS and Fire and Rescue ground crews.
Crescent Head is currently experiencing wind gusts of up to 40kph.
Under these conditions, fires are uncontrollable, unpredictable and fast-moving. Embers will be blown up to 4km ahead of the fire, creating spot fires that will move quickly and in different directions.
