The Macleay Valley Mustangs Under-18.5s relied on last minute heroics to book their place in the Group Three Rugby League decider in a fortnight.
Mustangs lock Harold Thompson barged his way over with under 25 seconds on the clock and fullback Kaine Parkinson held his nerves to slot the conversion, despite the gale force winds.
The 16-14 victory will give the Mustangs Under-18.5s a week off.
Later in the afternoon, the Mustangs first grade side fell 28-26 to Wauchope.
Macleay Valley, who were the minor premiers, will take on the Port City Breakers in a preliminary final this Sunday.
