The It's Ok on the Macleay event will be held on September 22, but Kempsey Families Inc is celebrating early by wearing Baylin's Gift shirts in the lead up to the event.
"We will be wearing our Baylin's Gift shirts from now up until the event in September. But as an organisation, we will continue to do so after the event as well," Executive Officer at Kempsey Families Inc June Wilson said.
"Anything that raises the profile of Baylin's Gift and It's Ok on the Macleay is something we want to get involved in and support."
It's Ok on the Macleay is a yearly event which began in 2017. It's a celebration of the diversity within the community and is endorsed by the foundation Baylin's Gift.
The event is a family fun day aimed at demonstrating acceptance and tolerance towards everyone in the community.
Kempsey Families Inc have been supporting It's Ok on the Macleay for three years, but this is the first time they have decided to wear shirts to raise awareness of the event.
It's Ok on the Macleay organising committee member and employee at Kempsey Families Inc Shelley Baker encourages other businesses and organisations to get involved.
"It would be great to see a number of businesses in Kempsey wear the shirts leading up to the event," she said.
"It's a great way for people to get involved."
It's Ok on the Macleay will be held on September 22 at Kempsey Riverside Park from 10am to 3pm. There will be a number of stalls, entertainment, food, guest speakers, face painting as well as an option to have a go at dragon boating plus many more.
All businesses and organisations are encouraged to participate in wearing colourful shirts leading up to September 22. Contact Hayley Hoskins at baylinsgift@gmail.com if your businesses wants to get involved.
Further information about the event can be found on the Baylin's Gift and It's Ok on the Macleay Facebook pages.
