"The Leukaemia Foundation's U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year is the biggest charity in the Australian Hospitality Industry," Ms Edwards said.
"Bartenders who are nominated compete against each other to be the top fundraising bartender and win the title of 'U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year'.
"Every $80 raised by an U.G.L.Y bartender, means one night of accommodation in one of the Leukaemia foundations units for someone who has leukaemia and their family."
As part of her fundraising efforts, Charmae is organising a meet and mingle night on August 31, at the Macleay River Hotel from 7 pm onward.
"My first year we raised enough for 16 nights, my second year it was 12, and this year I'm hoping to beat 16 and aim for 20," she said.
"A few local businesses are getting involved, and donated items to the raffle, we will have games, prizes, and a band in for the night. We have some great things in the raffle, including a picture of Winx, signed by the jockey and a Jack Daniels bucket.
"Local, Jack Goodchild is also planning to shave his head for the cause."
U.G.L.Y stands for Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You. Since starting ten years ago over $12 million has been raised and thousands of venues have participated, in 2018 alone, 1500 establishments across Australia held events.
"When someone in your family has Leukaemia, it's hard enough just dealing with the day to day, treatments, travel, the last thing you want to be worrying about is figuring out somewhere to stay, that's why this charity is so good, it helps families who need it," Ms Edwards said.
"Everyone is invited to come along to the meet and mingle night at the Macleay River Hotel; it's an excellent opportunity to support a great cause and meet new people.
"It doesn't matter if you donate a lot or a little, every little bit helps."
