Following a bye in the first round, our girls were comprehensive winners in their second round game against Armidale Ex-Services, winning both rinks, 66 shots to 24.
In their third round, they came up against a strong Castle Hill side, narrowly going down by 7 shots overall, with one rink win each.
Their fourth round again saw the girls convincing winners on both rinks against Newcastle side Swansea Workers, 55 shots to 26 shots. This brought about a clash in the final sectional round against the unbeaten South Coast team from Kiama.
Kiama went into this match three points in front of Kempsey RSL, with our girls needing to win the master board to win the section. In a very tense tight game the Kempsey girls managed to win one and half rinks and take the master board, clinching a spot in the final round robin series.
The final round robin games were held at Headquarters for all grades, the Kingscliff Bowling Club. In the first game against Tura Beach the girls got off to a very slow start, being down by 16 shots, however, the girls dug deep to lead by two shots only to fall away over the concluding ends in the face of some very good bowling by the opposition.
In their final game they came up against powerhouse club Cabramatta and although leading by eight shots early, were dominated by the very strong Cabra side to go down 25 shots to 47.
Congratulations to the girls on an outstanding effort to finish third in the Grade 2 State Pennants.
The girls wish to express their sincere appreciation to the loyal supporters who travelled north, to chairman Paul, The board of the main club and CEO Daniel for their support during the season.
