Recently Kempsey Friendship Force hosted guests from Hiroshima Japan, who came to Australia to improve their English and take in the local scenery and cuisine.

Staying in the homes of local Friendship Force members, they experienced all the daily routines of rural farm life, and for many, it was their first trip outside a city.
Each day the group would gather and undertake a variety of activities around the town, including a visit to the SES depot, where the staff gave a talk and a demonstration of some of the equipment and vehicles.
Other activities included a dinner at the Garden Bar Kitchen (the old cheese factory) at Frederickton, trips to Billabong Zoo, Timber Town, St Paul's College, and the Kempsey Aboriginal Art Museum.

Barefoot bowls was considered the highlight, as well as whale watching at the Smokey Cape Lighthouse and a special dinner at the home of the Program Coordinator, Jan Stubbs.
After a week of camaraderie and fun, the Friendship Force said goodbye to their new friends and took them to Port Macquarie for souvenirs and to board the plane back to Japan.
Friendship Force International exchange is an organisation dedicated to creating long-lasting cultural relations with other countries.
