Kempsey Macleay Off-road Club president Mat Huxley said it was an easy decision to make as the club wanted to do what's best for the landowners during this difficult drought.
"The dry conditions are making it tough on all farmers and we didn't want to stir up dust on the property," Huxley told the Argus.
"The dust would go on the grass that is there and deter the cows from eating it."
It's the first time the Wittitrin event has been cancelled since its inaugural year in 2005.
However, it is the second NSW Off-road Championship competition that has been cancelled this season. The Warrialda event was cancelled for the second straight year due to the dry conditions.
The local competitors will prepare for the final round of the NSW Championships the Nabiac Hotel Airport Challenge on October 19 and 20.
