On the back of a terrific opening partnership of 66 from youngsters Mitch Korn and Jack Wakely, who was on debut, the Rovers were able to post a total of 8/176.
Korn went on to score 62, while Wakely was dismissed for a solid 24, before Lachlan Dowling added 27 and captain Ethan Dowling registered 21 to help the home side reach the total.
Rovers' bowling and fielding efforts matched their batting as they managed to dismiss United for 131 in the 26th over, despite Tom Burley's best efforts as he scored an unbeaten 69.
Harry Nemme, who was earmarked by Ethan to be Rovers' main bowling weapon prior to the season, lived up to his name as he picked up figures of 4/22.
All five bowlers chimed in with a wicket as Dan Wade (2/26) and Josh Brenton (2/31) earned two dismissals with some tight bowling.
While the early victory is a great sign for Rovers, who have struggled to start the season in the past two years, Ethan insists his side has remained grounded.
"I don't want to get to ahead of ourselves just yet," Ethan told the Argus.
"I am just happy to get away with the points."
Ethan was impressed with the efforts of the opening batsmen and declared he won't be contemplating any adjustments anytime soon.
"I am very happy with the top order, hopefully we can keep going with the good starts," Ethan said.
"Mitch and Jack batted well and were both patient and took their chances when they got them.
"Jack was great and solid at the top.
"He will stay there the whole season."
While Ethan was pleased to see his side start the season on the front foot with both the bat and ball, it was the effort areas that impressed him most.
"The fielding was great," he said.
"There was a lot of commitment in the field and that's what I was impressed with the most."
Rovers will sit on the top of the table as the competition heads into round two, after the other two Premier League games were called off due to the downfall of rain.
