A large storm battered the region with strong winds accompanying the heavy rain.
Power outages were suffered at Crescent Head.
The 30mm of rain brings October's total rainfall to 50.6mm, which is the highest since March of this year.
Unfortunately, the rain in Kempsey yesterday is expected to be the last for at least the next seven days. The chance of rain ranges between 5 per cent and 10 per cent.
The forecast predicts the Macleay will experience sunny weather for the next week with temperatures to range from 25 to 35 degrees.
Today (Thursday October 17) is predicted to be the hottest day, with temperatures to reach 34 degrees.
