There are currently three fires in the Macleay Valley that are being monitored.
RFS Inspector Helen Carlos said crews were working in difficult conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
"Generally, the daytime weather on all firegrounds over the weekend was warm to hot and windy, and crews worked hard in some testing conditions. All fires had aircraft support on them at varying stages," she said.
"In all cases, the lack of water has been a challenge for crews. Minimal rain, if any, was received on the firegrounds."
The Five Day Creek Rd fire near Bellbrook is producing smoke that may be visible from the Armidale Rd, with drivers urged to take care in the area.
"The eastern edge of the Five Day Creek Rd fire has been contained and has held, and crews are continuing to focus on the western and southern lines. Crews are establishing a dozer line between the grass and woodland intending to protect pasture where possible," Insp Carlos said.
"Meanwhile crews from NSW RFS, NPWS and Victoria's Country Fire Authority (CFA) and Parks Victoria completed a number of backburns at the Andersons Rd fire and with aircraft and heavy plant supporting ground crews, the fire is substanitally contained to the north and east, however more work is being done predominantly to the west and south.
"A lack of water for firefighters is causing a few issues however water points for aircraft and crews has been set up."
Firefighters also completed a number of backburns to contain the Jacobs Spur fire over the weekend.
All three fires are listed at Advice Level and are being controlled.
