It took weeks of searching for the right mix of local actors to make up the cast of this new play.
"The mix is fantastic," Chris said.
"They compliment each other excellently."
The play was originally planned to be launched in November. However, due to a combination of logistical circumstances, the world premiere is now re-scheduled for February 2020.
The season will run for three weeks at The Bandbox Theatre with a gala opening night on Saturday February 1. There will also be a one-off theatre-restaurant presentation at The Bank conference centre on Friday February 8.
This is not a play for those sensitive to coarse language, sexual references and some violence. It's a gritty drama about real people in a country town.
Inspired by the Don Walker song of the same title, Chris set out to provide his answers as to who the "she" in the song is and why "she" is not around.
The central character is Terry Kennedy who left Flame Trees 10 years ago and was determined never to look back. Now, however, circumstances, fate, or maybe love has called him back. However, Terry quickly realises that little has changed in his home town.
Tickets go on sale this week at Tickethost and will also be available at Coastline Credit Union branches and Hourglass Jewellers.
