Rovers managed to post a total of only 120-runs, which Wingham surpassed with ease in their first defeat of the season last week.
Dowling admits his batsmen gave away their wickets too cheaply.
"Hopefully we get some runs on the board this weekend," Dowling said.
"Batting will be a strong point in the game."
However, Dowling acknowledges Taree West are a tough opponent.
"Taree have a decent team and they will be strong in their batting and bowing attack," he said.
"We will look to take early wickets and hopefully field well.
"It's important to at least win half the games this year and try to stay close to the leaders after the Christmas and New Year break."
Rovers will receive a boost in their bowling with a lethal weapon back in the attack.
"Big Matty Scott is back in the attack and hopefully he'll take some early wickets."
Rovers won their opening clash against United in South Kempsey before having two weeks off due to a bye and the representative round.
The competition takes a four week break from December 21.
The match begins at 1pm.
