The Kempsey Cup got underway today, and many locals were out and about having a good time, for Judy Vandris though, it's an extraordinary day because it marks 19 years of coming to The Cup.
"The first time I came to the Kempsey Cup was 19 years ago when I first moved here, and I haven't missed one since," she said.
"We come every year and have a ball."
During her nearly two decades of coming to the Kempsey Cup, Judy has seen many big wins from her particular spot near the boundary of the race track.
"It's a great spot; you can see everything, I sit here every year, I'm always in this area," Judy said.
Many die-hard Kempsey Cup fans have their own unique betting system with the goal of having fun or winning big, and Judy is no different.
"I go a $1 each way, its all a bit of fun, " she said.
"I really like to watch everyone dress up, and see the Fashions On The Field."
Sadly, the cup ended prematurely, with the races called off due to severe smoke and ash.
